Pilates Is a Successful Training Method for Most Sports

Whether you are involved in any team sport like soccer, baseball and rugby, or part of some individual sport such as tennis, athletics and running, Pilates exercise will have a significant role in almost all elite sports these days. Athletes involved in both individual and team sports are now in search of training regimes that involve Pilates as a fundamental element.

Generally speaking, Pilates exercise will offer benefits to its performers at different levels and after reading these advantages, you will become a Pilates devotee.

Lessens the frequency of injuries

Most athletes and sportspersons have frequent injuries due to wrong posture. If you lack a balanced posture around your pelvis region, there are chances that you might frequently suffer from lower back pain. If this flaw in posture goes unnoticed for long, the person can have anterior pelvic tilt. Imagine someone with their bum sticking out and you will get the picture how different muscles suffer due to wrong posture. In this particular condition, the hamstring muscles remain in a stretched position and so the person is vulnerable to more injuries.

However, Pilates can offer certain dynamic exercises to address the issue. There is weight shifting technique and circuit training to strengthen muscles around the core region including the pelvis. When Pilates workout is performed while keeping these pointers in mind, the chances of any impact-related or other injuries can be reduced.

Better overall body control

If you have taken a step ahead from the classic mat exercises to the reformer, you will discover a whole new world of Pilates programs. A reformer can place your body in a variety of positions and train it for paramount control. Pilates over reformer is ideal for beginners and sportsman might not find it hard to train on it especially if they undertake this process for injury recovery or rehab.

As opposed to those traditional weight training or mat workouts, an athlete gets more pronounced results from using a reformer for Pilates.

Better power yield

If your sport requires intense effort, an unstable position might hold you back from powerful movements. We all know that any Pilates program whether basic or complex will lead to better core strength and as a result the athlete can exert maximum force in their sport without the fear of injury. Pilates offers added strength in the hip region which allows the athlete to apply force form the unorthodox positions.

Though Pilates has some clear advantages for individuals in impact sports, its pros are not any less valuable for recreational sports and general fitness.

Top Tips for Designing Your Own Custom Sports Kit

Whether you are the coach of your workplace sports team or are instead the head of sports at a school, designing a custom kit that your players will wear is an important task. Not only do you have to fit all the necessary information onto the kit such as logos and names, but you also have to come up with a stylish design that leaves a strong impression too.

For this reason, it is important to think carefully before you submit a final design to your custom sportswear supplier. It is worth asking for the assistance of these kinds of experts – as they will have designed and supplied a number of custom sports kits before – but it is also wise to read up online on some handy designing tips.

The first key to getting a good design is to find the right specialist for creating your design. No matter how good your ideas are, they will not translate well into reality if you work with a specialist who does not offer a quality service. Shop around for a good supplier, and do not hesitate to ask for recommendations of other people who have already worked with them.

As mentioned above, the specialist in question will also often be able to give you great advice on creating the right shorts, shirts and tracksuits for your team. It is therefore well worth the effort looking into working with only the best suppliers of custom sportswear for sports teams.

The second tip to get the best out of your design is to analyse a number of existing samples of kits that you like. If you have no clue about which direction to go in when creating a unique design for your team, getting inspiration from other existing kits is the perfect way to start.

To do this, look online at the kits of professional teams in your particular sport to get a feel of what some the most popular styles look like. Imitating these can lead to the creation of a quality kit that will look particularly good on your players and boost their morale.

Another way to go around getting inspiration is to look at samples that are available from your chosen supplier. They will undoubtedly have an existing portfolio of tracksuits, polo shirts, jerseys, shorts and more that you get your own ideas from. You will also get an idea of what exactly is possible when you work with that particular company.

Next, make sure that you run the designs by your team – this can be a great team building exercise in and of itself, as it is possible to get all team members involved in the creation of something that they will all be wearing during games. Many team members may also have some winning ideas that can transform the basic design into something more personalised and meaningful.

You will also need to make sure that you have all the necessary information about your team, team members and sponsors on your custom sports kit. Make sure that you think carefully about how this information should be positioned on each article of clothing, and ask your chosen supplier for their advice on the sizing of these elements.

If you are concerned that you may forget something essential, ensure that you write a list of the essential elements of the shirts, tracksuits or jerseys that you absolutely must place on the kit. You can also add other essentials to the list, including certain colours – such as school colours – that must make an appearance on the garments.

These are just a few pieces of advice to help you design a great sports kit for your team. By taking the time to get inspired by other people’s designs, consulting with your team, choosing a great supplier and making a list of all the necessary elements of the kit, you will be a few steps ahead in getting the perfect kit.

The Noble M10 Sports Car

The Noble M10 – A close look at this sports car including performance, technical data, features, comparing rivals, history, used prices

from Classic to Modern

BACKGROUND

Sports car builder Noble was established in 1999 in Leeds by Lee Noble, and specialised in fast, mid-engined, rear wheel drive cars.

Prior to launching Noble, he was involved in the design of other sports cars, with brand names such as Ultima and Ascari.

The body and chassis of every car was produced by Hi-Tech Automotive in South Africa on the same assembly lines as Superformance rolling chassis for such distinctive cars as replica Cobras.

Upon completion of the body shell, it was then shipped to the new Noble factory near Leicester, at which point the engine and gearbox were added, and the finished car was tested.

It was designated the M10 since it was the tenth design by Lee Noble.

As the designer of his own cars, the basic philosophy was to begin with a lightweight space frame, to which was added a powerful engine and a sporty aerodynamic body.

His design encompassed a mid-engine format which would provide good handling characteristics.

In terms of marketing, he pitched the price of each car such that it would be positioned in the affordable sector of the sports car market, and so reach a wide audience.

He resigned from Noble in 2008, and went on to create a new venture.

THE CAR

The Noble M10 was the first car to be designed and produced by the company.

It was launched in 1999 with a price tag of around $30,000 and, interestingly, he built the first two units in a garage situated near his home.

Since the car was superseded a year later by the more impressive M12, few of the M10’s were actually sold since potential customers changed their allegiance to the forthcoming model.

The M10 was a two seater, only available as a convertible, with a composite fibreglass body and chassis, and a corresponding curb weight of only 960 kg.

It was powered by a Ford Duratec 2.5 litre, 24 valve, V6 engine that developed 168 bhp, and 162 ft/lbs of torque.

Linked to a five speed manual gearbox, it produced a top speed of 135 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 secs.

It was fitted with 10 inch vented disc brakes all round.

Following the launch of the M10, Toyota introduced their MR2 convertible that same year which, outwardly, looked very similar to the M10. Technical data:

COMPETITION

Some of the typical competitors of the Noble M10 included the following: Lotus Elise, Porsche Boxter, BMW Z4, and Mercedes SLK 350. Noble performance:

The Many Advantages of Outdoor Sports

Outdoor sports can never outweigh computer or video games in terms of advantages. Spending a day outdoors may take high amount of energy from us but the benefits are priceless. For one, you may never be aware of it, but the energy being exerted by people who have done even the simplest walk or jog or run for a few significant minutes can actually energize us and give us certain “high” and adrenaline. Exercise is even advised to people suffering from a minor depression for sweating can actually normalize internal processes in our body like blood circulation and oxygen flow. Breathing that comes from strenuous activities allows a good amount of oxygen to flow up until our brain, enabling it to function more productively.

Those are only a few advantages of active outdoor sports in our body. Its benefits are not only limited to health reasons that can help us physically, but also a few other significant reasons that may help our entire being. For one, outdoor sports allow us to be one with nature. Enjoying outdoor activities allow us to explore the wonders and the beauty of our natural environment. Surfers are challenged to surf at significantly thicker waves, and spot seas that produce such waves. They know when to surf ideally and at what time of the day.

They develop a certain attachment with the ocean and are familiar with the behavior of the water. Hikers take a long day exploring the wild, being able to be challenged with what the nature can offer. They find fulfillment in being able to satisfy themselves with the basic things nature offers. Scuba divers and snorkelers are always amazed by the colorful world under the sea. They find time to go under water and feel relaxed and fascinated by the creatures they see. Outdoor sports allow people to be close to nature, and to God. Being an outdoor enthusiast not only inspires a person to the beauty of nature but also empowers people to use the strength given by the Almighty to the fullest.

Outdoor sports can also be a perfect stress reliever. Workaholics who work hard during the entire week can spend a weekend doping their favorite outdoor activity to relax or to relieve any stress or tension. A quick getaway at a tourist destination might do the trick. It is best to not just spend the weekend by being a couch potato watching a movie marathon, it always pays to sweat it out and feel energized. Companies often do team buildings not just to develop camaraderie among employees but to also allow workers to unwind on a different place doing other things where they can exert more energy and feel healthier.

Outdoor sports are also great chances for a family or friends’ bonding. A simple swimming weekend activity can help family members to catch up on each other’s lives after a busy week spent on them. Couples can also spend quality time for themselves doing an enjoyable outdoor activity such as fishing or diving, if they are fond of doing it.

The Ferrari 360 Modena Sports Car

The Ferrari 360 Modena – A close look at this classic sports car’s performance, technical data, features, comparing rivals, history, used prices.

From Classic to Modern:

THE CAR

The 360 Modena sports car was introduced by Ferrari in 1999, and named the car after the town in which the company’s founder was born.

With a launch price of $140,000, the 360 replaced the successful 355 Series, and consisted of the two seater Modena Berlinetta coupe, the Spider convertible, and the Challenge variant.

Unlike the 355 which was fitted with a steel chassis, the 360 featured a new, slightly larger, aluminium space frame chassis, which benefited from the fact that it was up to 40% stronger, and yet was still some 100 kg, or 25%, lighter.

With styling once again in the hands of Pininfarina, there was a move towards softer lines, and included the removal of the pop-up headlights, whose demise was signalled in the 355.

The cabin of the 360 was much more spacious than that in the 355 Series owing to the increased dimensions of the aluminium chassis, and the interior was fitted with leather trim.

Amongst the optional extras were carbon fibre seats, and a racing exhaust system.

In terms of fuel consumption, it registered 13 mpg in the city and 19 mph on the highway.

The body panels were made from aluminium, and it used vacuum assisted 13 inch vented disc brakes all round and linked to ABS, plus coil spring four wheel independent suspension.

Air from the front ducts flowed below the under-tray to the two diffusers at the rear, and this produced a down force which gradually increased as the car accelerated. In this way, road holding was radically improved.

Dry sump lubrication was retained, as was a five bearing crankshaft, ASR traction control, and limited slip differential.

The dampers had their own electronic control unit to manage vertical or horizontal movement in the car.

By the time production ended in 2005, a total of 8,800 units of the Ferrari Modena sports car had been built.

THE ENGINE

Each of the 360 Series sports cars shared the same larger 3.6 litre, DOHC, mid-engined, rear wheel drive, V8 unit, with five valves per cylinder which, like the 355, utilised lightweight internal components, such as titanium con rods.

It was fitted with a flat-plane crankshaft to prevent uneven firing and timing issues experienced when using a cross-plane unit.

It developed 395 bhp at the redline of 8500 rpm, and 275 ft/lbs of torque at 4750 rpm, the majority of which was available around 3000 rpm.

The compression ratio remained at 11:1, it continued to use electronic fuel ignition, and was fitted with the latest Bosch ME 7.3 engine management system.

Linked to a six speed, all synchromesh, manual gearbox, or the optional F1-style paddle gear shift unit, it produced a top speed of 189 mph, and a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 secs.

The optional system had two paddles behind the steering wheel such that the right paddle changed up a gear, whist the left one changed down, with each gear change taking a mere 150 milliseconds.

With no clutch pedal, the electronic control unit in the gearbox managed the gear changes when matched to the engine revs.

COMPETITION

Typical competition for the Ferrari 360 Modena sports car included the following: Porsche 996 GT2, Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, and TVR Tuscan S. Ferrari performance:

SPORTS CARS FOR SALE

On the second hand market, a Ferrari 360 Modena, in good condition, would sell for around $60,000, whilst an immaculate example would command around around $100,000.

One of the classic cars from Ferrari.

This marks the end of my Review of the Ferrari 360 Modena sports car

Most Popular Sports Around The World

All types of sports are popular globally, but what sports can we call THE most popular in the world? Some of the answers may surprise you.

It’s no surprise that football, or what Americans call “soccer” is the world’s most popular sport to play and to watch. An estimated 3.5 billion people either watch or play football. The World Cup is the global championship of the sport and this tournament is played every four years. The World Cup itself is one of the highest rated sports on television, with many countries tuning in en masse to watch their country’s team play. Football is popular in all of the UK, Europe, Asia as well as South America. However, with so many other sports being popular, the Unites States still lags behind in their interest in “soccer”.

Next, we have cricket. This sport which consists of a bat and a ball, has been around for hundreds of years and originated in England. The sport is popular in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, some African countries, some Caribbean countries and it is the most popular sport in the countries of India and Pakistan. An estimated 3 billion people watch or play cricket each year.

The next most popular sport is a sure surprise, and that is field hockey, with an estimated 2 billion players or watchers, mostly in Asian countries, European countries, Australia and around Africa. This sport tends to be played in high schools in the United States, usually by girls only.

Coming up next is tennis. Not so surprising, but there are an estimated 1 billion players and watchers of tennis around the world. Tennis tends to be popular in richer countries, including the United States, Asian countries, Australia and Europe. There are four main tournaments in tennis, called “Grand Slams” at which players from many countries play. The first is the Australian Open, then the French Open, Wimbledon and then the US Open in late August. The Grand Slam tournaments tend to get the most attention during the tennis season.

Next we have volleyball. Yet another surprise, with an estimated 900 million viewers or players around the world. Volleyball is popular in the United States, where the sport originated, as well as in Brazil, all over Europe, Russia, China and Japan. Volleyball is a popular high school sport in many countries due to it’s team centered play and lack of specialized equipment requirements.

Also popular is table tennis, otherwise known as Ping Pong. This is another surprisingly popular sport around the world, with an estimated 900 million watchers or players. Table tennis originated in England as an after dinner activity for Victorians in the late 19th century. Table tennis as a competitive sport is popular in many countries but is especially popular in China, Korea and Singapore.

After these sports, we have a triumvirate of more mainstream American sports including baseball, golf, American football and basketball, with each sport attracting between 400 and 500 million players or watchers worldwide.

Getting Recruited Isn’t the Only Way to Get a Sports Scholarship

You might be one of those people that perform very well when it comes to sports. If you are and you are in high school, you might have the idea that your ability at a given sport could end up putting you in line for a sports scholarship that will either entirely pay for college, or at least partially pay for your higher education. However, there is more to getting a scholarship than just being good at sports.

One thing you have to understand is that with sports scholarship there are a few ways to get them. For some, especially in the more high profile sports like football and basketball, you have a good chance at being recruited; however, not all scholarships that are sports related come from athletes being recruited.

In many cases, if you are looking for a sports scholarship, for whatever sport you happen to play, you might just have to ask. With so many high school athletes, it is conceivable that your talents at a given sport are heads and shoulders above most people; but there is still the possibility you will be overlooked. There are too many athletes and only a small number of coaches and recruits, comparatively speaking.

Sometimes you will have to contact a coach yourself, offer them up your statistics, not only on the field of play but your grades as well. In essences, you are going to have to recruit them, much like a college coach might recruit a person of superior talent.

Consider this, in most scholarship situations, a person has to ask for one rather than them being solicited for a scholarship. In fact, the way scholarships are offered to potential students are less normal and less common than the traditional way of getting a scholarship, which is to request one.

Another to remember is that you will have to be persistent as well. You will have to be aware that you might hear no a lot. However, if you have the skills and you have the talent, and of course you’ll need the grades as well, you will eventually find a sports scholarship that fits your needs.

The fact is that there are plenty of sports scholarship to go around. Some might be full scholarships, others might be partial scholarships, and it is wise to not get too far ahead of yourself and only look for full scholarships as the only option. While they do exist, they are not easy to get and when it comes to paying for college these days, any help paying for it is welcome, or at least it should be.

Fashion and Extreme Sports

Although it’s still not exactly “mainstream,” extreme sports have become incredibly popular over the last decade or so. Sports like surfing, snowboarding and BMX still don’t draw the crowds that football and baseball do, but they’ve been slowly creeping into the collective consciousness of sports fans everywhere in surprising ways. One area where these sports have had a major influence is in the world of fashion. BMX apparel and other kinds of sports fashion have become very popular not just with extreme athletes, but with people from all walks of life.

From a certain angle, the rise of extreme sports fashion isn’t surprising. Sportswear has always been popular with athletes and non-athletes alike. Not only is sportswear built for comfort, but they fit perfectly with most casual clothing styles in the United States. Sportswear has gone from being strictly for athletes in the early 20th Century to being what most people imagine when they think of casual dress. Fashion designers now regularly incorporate sportswear elements into their work, even in clothing that is not intended to be casual. These days, it’s hard not to go out in public and see people wearing jerseys, baseball caps and other clothing originally designed as sportswear even when there is no sporting event happening. Sportswear has become all-purpose casual wear.

Of course, comfort and a casual look aren’t the only reasons why sports gear has become so popular. As the name implies, extreme sports can be dangerous. Professional skateboarding at the very least requires pads and a helmet, and the right BMX apparel can save BMX bikers from some really nasty injuries. At a glance, this might not mean much to someone who would never step onto a skateboard or BMX bike, but the protection offered by some extreme sports gear can be useful in other situations. The heavy fleece jackets worn by snowboarders are some of the warmest winter jackets available, and the shoes worn by skateboarders can take a beating and last much longer than most sneakers.

Because of the popularity of these high adrenalin sports, many clothing designers have begun to market that extreme sportswear to the mainstream. People are still probably more likely to wear a football jersey than BMX apparel in casual situations, but the growing popularity of sports fashion hasn’t gone unnoticed. Many professional extreme athletes have their own clothing lines now, and it has gotten to the point where many people wear the clothes without having any knowledge of sports. Many just like the clothing itself, which can probably be considered the ultimate victory for any clothing designer.

In the end, the popularity of extreme sports fashion isn’t all that different from the popularity of most other sportswear. Most people ultimately wear things like BMX apparel because it fits in with the casual style of dress that is so popular in the United States. On top of that, most of this clothing is durable as well as stylish. Extreme sports are still seen as a niche, but many of the fashions associated with it could become mainstream in the next few years.

Special Considerations of Sports Massage

Sports massage is a special category of massage that is designed to help sports players in their performance and endurance. It also intends to improve the length of the client’s sports career, a consideration that is not present in normal massage. In addition, this type of massage is less focused on relaxing the client, especially for pregame massages.

Timing

There are four main times to administer sports massage: pre-event, which takes place shortly before a sports game and is aimed at preparing the athlete’s muscles for exertion; post-event, which takes place after the game and normalizes the athlete’s muscle tissue; restorative, which is administered during training to make that training effective while reducing the risk of injury, and finally rehabilitative, which helps the athlete recover from an injury. Each deployment of sports massage has its own procedure as dictated by the type of massage.

Location

While much of massage is focused on the entire body, sports massage is more likely to focus on just one set of muscles. This is because different athletes will use one muscle group much more than the rest, and therefore they are at risk for injury in that group much more than in the others. Targeting is particularly important during rehabilitative massage, in which the massage is used to aid recovery of an injury.

Knowledge is Power

Every sport requires its own set of unnatural body movements. Within each sport, every position has a different set of responsibilities and, therefore, different requirements for their body. As a result, a sports massage therapist needs to be knowledgeable in the demands any given player will be placing on their muscles, because that determines the kind of massage they need. A catcher has very different needs from a pitcher, but at the highest levels, both will be putting a lot of stress on their muscles and both need special attention.

Technique

While there are a variety of disciplines within massage in general, sports massage draws on a special blend of techniques from just two traditions: Shiatsu and Swedish. The techniques are divided into five types: effleurage, petrissage, frictions, percussions, and vibrations. Each has its own place in a sports massage session, but in general, effleurage begins and ends a session, petrissage relaxes and loosens muscles, and frictions correct muscle grain and scar tissue, while percussion and vibration vary with the style of the massage therapist.

A registered massage therapist should at least be familiar with the goals and techniques of massage specifically related to athletics, even though it is a specialization and most massage therapists might never need to practice it. Sports massage is a field that demands a high degree of knowledge of its practitioners.

Young and Reckless Dream – E-Sports

Even E-sports has been officially recognized as a sport project, it is still full of controversies. How long does E-sports far away from the wild recognition of the public and from the traditional sports?

Current: the co-existence of difficulties and hope

On July 22, 2014, Newbee won the T14 and gained five million dollars as an award, which causes a sensation. Such a large number of bonus even attracted the attention of many traditional print media. Electronic sports expanded its impacts by this chance successfully. On the other hand, some opinions of media workers reflected the thoughts of the general public: Playing games can earn money too? It shows that electronic sports still have a long way to go if it wants to be accepted by traditional minds.

It can be said that, with the impact of network addiction, misunderstandings of the public are not incidental. According to the votes conducted by People’s Daily Online, only 20% of the voters approve that E-sports should be accounted as a sport project. This poll also reflects that people lack of understanding of E-sports and confuse E-sports with playing online games.

Difficulties not only come from the outside, but also from inside. There are famous players Sky and Newbee, but also ordinary players who are in a tight spot even fail to have a job with stable salary and get supports from their family. Even Newbee dared to confess to their parents after their success. Besides, from a hobby to a career, hard training could not be neglected. Professional players need to train at least 10 hours every day.

Same as other traditional sports, retirement also exists among E-sports players. Golden age for E-sports is between 18 to 25. Being poorly educated during this period is one of the most important reasons for the public’s misunderstanding.

As an industry who is gradually exploring business pattern and forming industrial chain still has a long way to go. Although faces with barriers and obstacles along the road, E-sports industry in China is still full of hope with the endeavor of the government, capital, players and manufacturers. It is transferring to be a traditional and serious industry.

An officer from State General Administration of Sports says that: Every sport is a product of the development of social productive forces and the changes of the society. Track and field coming from agrarian age; cycle racing coming from industrial age and E-sports coming from information and technology age, which represents the attitude of governmental departments. There is one sentence could judge E-sports objectively: E-sports players are not a group of people who addicted in games but someone who try to realize themselves in games.

Manufacturers and capitals will focus on E-sports industry chains and players. Except hosting competitions with high reward, the popularity of live-broadcasting platforms, such as Douyu TV or Zhanqi TV, provide stable earnings to E-sports players.

Future: passion will last forever

Only passion and hope can support this industry to develop, change and move forward. To be frank, E-sports is a career with high risks. Great pressure and prejudices must be accepted no matter who wants to be a part of this industry. It has nothing to do with wealth, reputation and status. It matters the pleasures in your deep heart. It matters the focus and dedication.

I admire those athletes who try to challenge the limit of human again and again. But I also admire those E-sports players who spend their valuable time and energy on it even take risks of misunderstanding. They also deserve a hug, a bunch of flowers and a kind smile.
